Final Semester Blog Post 8 - Yarnsonas and Planning for After

We are so so so close to the end!! I cannot believe it honestly. I'm very happy with all the work we've all managed to do. Things are still a bit hectic at the moment, but there isn't much we can do about that at the moment. I finished up the yarnsonas for both myself and Sam yesterday, so now I have pretty much nothing else to do. I'm here mostly for moral support and small logistics at this point. I got us a reservation at the restaurant we chose for our little celebratory dinner though!! We're going to be doing it on the 12th at a Korean BBQ place!! It'll be fun!! I'm excited haha.

Of course I'm still checking in with everyone and making sure things are going well. We only have a couple of scenes left to render. Almost everything is complete!! Lucy and Isabel are mostly the ones working on fur sim and renders, and then Ash is doing comp, with Sam helping a bit, and Rianne is doing the final edit while Lucy is doing the final audio!! Cal is also working on a bunch of our 2D effects as well, which are almost done. So at the moment, Lila, Sam, and I have not much to do, besides be there if they need us. Sam is still helping get the comp to look right though, since he did our lighting. I'm mostly making sure no one is doubling up on anything. I've watched the edit a couple of times since the production pass, and it already looks ten times better!! I can't wait to see how complete and polished it's going to be at the screening!! Lucy is even working with our music person to get the music to a better place beforehand too. It was a bit off on our last pass, and I think we all wanted something a bit more punchy. Our sound guy doesn't seem to mind, and has been very willing to work with us!!

My main job these last couple of days before the due date was to make yarnsonas for both myself and Sam, since he didn't want to draw his. It was honestly pretty fun to see what I could do to yarnballs to make them look like the two of us. Mine is covered in keychains and wearing a little flower bucket hat!! And Sam's is holding a flashlight!! Since he was the one who did literally all of our lighting, I figured it was fitting. It looks super good too!! Just like him honestly. I'm very proud of both of them. They turned out pretty good. I'm looking forward to seeing them in the credits. I think I'll talk to Lila a bit about some other things we could add to the credits, since the two of us don't really have much else to do right now. Seems like a good idea to me.

I just hope they're all doing okay. Especially since I'm not much of a help right now. The end of the semester doesn't seem to require much from me, sadly. I had a much bigger role in preproduction. Which I don't necessarily mind honestly. I just wish I could be a bigger help at the moment. I don't think that's possible though, unfortunately. So for now I will just remain on standbye. Things are finally coming together once and for all though!! And that is something I'm extremely excited about.
